WHY LAUNCH JOCO?
In many communities in the United States and across the world, most small business owners, including minorities and low income entrepreneurs, lack the training and resources necessary to be successful. Modeled after the Launch program in other areas of the state, this program is a proven recipe for bringing new entrepreneurship to the underserved in our county.
Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) that approximately 20% of new businesses fail during the first two years of being open, 45% during the first five years, and 65% during the first 10 years. Only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more. Launch JoCo is designed to give business owners the tools and resources needed to work “on” the business and not just “in” the business.
