Elevating Clayton's future through community forums, task forces, committees, and even one-on-one conversations; Influencing business development within the community, various organizations, and governments; and providing advancement opportunities, marketing solutions, networking, and professional development training through various signature events and other initiatives. The Clayton Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors. |

2022 Accolades.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT Continued Launch JOCO with 20 students and 20 mentors to support and develop entrepreneurs and small businesses in Johnston County, held State of the Chamber: Emerging From the Tunnel...Vision event, launched 'ElevateHER' Women's Business Development and held the inaugural ElevateHER women's empowerment summit, worked collaboratively with JOCO WORKS Steering Committee, and collaborated with county-wide workforce development study. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Hosted our legacy event, Clayton Harvest Festival, with an economic impact study, established the Town of Clayton Stakeholders group, co-hosted Triangle Business Journal Corridors of Opportunity with the Chamber President & CEO as a panelist, held State of the Chamber: NCDOT road projects, purchased a business tracking software to enhance and bring value to investors, participated in the groundbreaking of the Highway 42 extension with NCDOT, participated in the groundbreaking for AdvancedTec, co-hosted Go-Triangle info session on commuter rail, and the involvement of the Pedestrian Plan Steering Committee with the Town of Clayton. EVENTS 87 events were held throughout the year that include relationship building (B2B), business development, education, advocacy, economic development, and more. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

EDUCATION Launched the Student to Entrepreneur Program (STEP) for 6 students from Clayton High School paired with a business leader mentor, received $2,500 Innovation Program Grant, presented STEP Program at CACCE conference to over 100 chamber professionals, recognized 10 outstanding Super Star teachers throughout the school year, and continued the CCOC INSPIRE Mentoring Program at Clayton Middle School. LEGISLATIVE AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS Visited the State Capital with CCOC investors to present legislative agenda, hosted Platforms at the Podium candidate forum for both primary and general elections, actively supported school bond and participated in the informational video with community and school leaders, created the Voter Resource page for Platforms at the Podium, and created Building Relationships Impacting Diversity and Growing Economy (BRIDGE, DEI). CLAYTON CHAMBER FOUNDATION Distributed $22,500 from Duke Energy in small business grants to 12 businesses and established the UCB First Responder Scholarship Fund. TOTAL RESOURCE CAMPAIGN (TRC) Continued the Total Resource Campaign (TRC) for the third year in a row with 34 volunteers and 135 investor participants, raising $187,185 with a 42% increase over 2021. |

Separate from the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, the Clayton Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2019.
