Economic Development.

CCOC is committed to economic development. The CCOC Economic Development committee is a collaborative forum to discuss, research, and cultivate ideas, as well as implement initiatives related to Clayton’s business stability, growth, and community enrichment in order to ensure its economic vitality. Entrepreneurship development will also be a part of this committee's focus beginning in 2020.

Workforce Development.

CCOC is committed to producing and retaining skilled workers in Clayton, NC. The CCOC Workforce Development committee achieves CCOC’s workforce development goals by implementing related initiatives and collaborating with various community partners and regional workforce programs, training opportunities, and events. The committee's focus for 2020 will be on a new Veteran entry program, development of a Workforce report card, a collaborative Johnston County initiative, and JOCO WORKS, a workforce event with curriculum for all 8th grade students in Johnston County.

Legislative & Governmental Affairs.

An integral component of CCOC’s mission is to communicate the views of the business community to our elected officials as well as ensure all Clayton voters are educated about all platforms. The Legislative & Governmental Affairs Committee identifies and recommends policy to CCOC board of directors on issues that affect our local economy, business environment, and quality of life in Clayton, NC, as well as plans voter education events open to the general public.

Education.

CCOC is committed to education. The CCOC Education Committee is focused on public and private education advocacy in Clayton. They achieve this by cultivating relationships with and supporting Clayton’s Pre-K through 12th grade schools, selecting monthly and annual CCOC Super Star Teacher award recipients, and developing/overseeing educational presentations and mentoring programs. The committee's focus in 2020 will be on Super Star Teacher, the INSPIRE Mentoring Program, and the development of CCOC's new Young Entrepreneur Program initiatives.

H.Y.P.E. (Helping Young Professionals Engage).

HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) has the mission of providing opportunities to local young professionals in order to build personal networks and develop lasting relationships with peers in the community. The HYPE group is dedicated to young professionals with a focus on professional development, networking and service. HYPE’s annual opportunities will include serving, leadership, and networking within the Clayton community as well as personal and professional development through seminars and outreach efforts.

Ambassador.

CCOC is committed to business advocacy. The CCOC Ambassador Committee assists CCOC with this commitment by contacting and engaging with investors, relaying feedback to CCOC staff from the business community, organizing an annual business to business marketing opportunity, attending celebratory ribbon cuttings, and selecting CCOC’s businesses of the month from public nominations.
