"Out and About with Dana Wooten: A Month of Engagement and Impact"

August 2: CACCE Board of Directors Meeting Dana attended the CACCE Board of Directors Meeting to plan the upcoming CACCE Management Conference in November 2024, which will be held in Blowing Rock, NC. 

August 6: Guest Appearance on Down Home Dirt Podcast Dana was a guest on the new podcast "Down Home Dirt," where she discussed all things related to CCOC. Listen to the episode here. 

August 6, 20, and 22: LaunchJOCO Informational Sessions Dana attended all three LaunchJOCO Informational Sessions held in Smithfield, Clayton, and Benson, where potential participants learned about the program and its benefits. 

August 7: Outreach to Construction Industry Investors Dana crafted an email to CCOC investors in the construction industry, encouraging them to participate in JOCO Works. This effort resulted in four investors committing to participate in the November event. 

August 8: Building Task Force Meeting Dana met with the Building Task Force to finalize plans for the completion of the exterior repointing and roofing projects, as well as the furniture for the boardroom. 

August 19: STEP Students' Mock Presentations STEP Students delivered their mock presentations to mentors and members of the Education Committee as they prepared for their Pitch Night on September 23rd. 

August 20: TANG and Economic Development Committee Meeting Dana attended TANG with the STEP Students and their mentors, where the students networked and presented their elevator pitches about their businesses. The interactive session provided valuable feedback. Later, Dana attended the CCOC Economic Development Committee's Stakeholder Meeting, where the Town of Clayton presented on density. 

August 21: Ribbon Cutting and Lunch with JCC President Dana attended the ribbon cutting for the newly remodeled Pritchard Road Food Lion and had lunch with JCC President, Dr. Vern Lindquist. 

August 22: Garner Chamber IMPACT Awards Luncheon Dana attended the Garner Chamber IMPACT Awards luncheon to celebrate fellow CCOC investors Bernice Reynolds, Cynthia Joyner, and Daisy Lilly, who received IMPACT awards. 

August 27: LaunchJOCO Pitch Night Dana attended the 2024 LaunchJOCO Pitch Night, where this year's students presented their final business pitches. The evening was a celebration of their successes and accomplishments. 

​ August 29: Economic Development Academy Seminar Dana attended a half-day Economic Development Academy seminar hosted by JC Economic Development, gaining insights and networking with key stakeholders in the community.  Stay tuned for more updates on how our Chamber leaders are making a difference in the community!
