Featured Business of the Week

The Clayton Chamber of Commerce has selected North Carolina Paper Company to be the Featured Business of the Week the week of June 14, 2010.  The Company is a family-owned business founded in 1919 by Edwin Byron Haynes.  It is now owned and managed by his grandson Byron Haynes.  The Company was located in downtown Raleigh until 1986, when it moved to the current location in downtown Clayton, NC.  Although the product lines have changed over the years, the philosophy of offering quality products at reasonable prices in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere remains the same.  Byron and Joyce Haynes are committed to personal customer service and satisfaction.

The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday.  They can be reached by phone at 919-553-3313 and their website is www.ncpaperco.com. 

The retail showroom features a large cake decorating section for beginner and professional decorators.  They carry Satin Ice Rolled Fondant, Wilton cake decorating supplies, boxes, boards, cake drums, gum paste roses and flowers.  They have a must see selection of cake decorating.  Don't decorate, they will teach you how; sign up for Wilton Cake classes.  They also carry Merckens chocolate and candy making supplies.  They carry all occasion party supplies, balloons and wedding invitation. 

In the wholesale warehouse, a large variety of bulk paper products are offered.  They carry food service disposable paper and cleaning supplies.  They can deliver locally and have sales persons that are dedicated to assist the needs of their customers.

Business Referral Services - The Chamber staff works daily to refer callers and newcomers to your business. Staff makes referrals only to member businesses.

Membership Directory - Your business information will be placed in our annual Membership Directory and Buyers Guide, which is widely distributed throughout the membership and the community.

Chamber Newsletter - Receive our newsletter, "Chamber News," free of charge and stay informed about Chamber events, business news, new members, and other community information.

Membership Plaque - Display your membership plaque so clients and customers know you have made an investment in the community.

Internet Exposure - Your business Web site and e-mail address is directly linked from our searchable,  on-line Membership Directory Website.

Meeting Room - Use the Chamber board room once a month free of charge during business hours.

Visitor Center - Members may stock business literature in our Visitor Center to be available to  newcomers and residents who visit the Chamber office.

Ribbon Cuttings - The Chamber organizes ribbon cuttings for new members and relocated businesses and pays for photos to be published with an announcement in the local newspaper.

Free Email Blast - New members to the Chamber can send one e-mail to the Chamber membership free of charge within the first three months of membership.

Free Newspaper Ad - New Chamber members will receive a free ad in the Clayton-Garner Record.

Networking and Educational Opportunities - Attend one of numerous Chamber events that provide an informal avenue for networking, including Business After Hours, Lunch and Learn and Eggs and Issues seminars, and a monthly Member Breakfast Exchange.

Promotional Opportunities - Members can advertise in the newsletter for reasonable fees and have the chance to promote their business through the Chamber sponsorship program.

Discounted Services - Take advantage of discounted fees for participation in Chamber events, including the Harvest Festival and Business Expo. Mailing labels also are available at a discounted price to members.

About the Chamber

With 400 (+) members, the Clayton Chamber of Commerce is the fastest growing chamber in Johnston County. Our diverse membership includes small businesses, industries, professional firms, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies and individuals.

The Chamber staff works cooperatively with area businesses and local government to promote business and economic development, increase civic awareness and community involvement, and support educational opportunities throughout Clayton and the surrounding areas. We are a resource for information about Clayton and assist in recruiting new businesses to the area.
